SOS telephone services to support women in situations of violence that is provided by women`s non-governmental organizations will be accessible to more women, in particular to Roma women and women with disabilities. Support in the form of grants were received by eight associations that provide this specialized service. Grants are provided by the UNDP, under the joint project of the United Nations “Integrated Response to Violence against Women and Girls II”.

Supported are: the Association "Femina" from Smederevska Palanka, which will be expanding support in the realization of the rights, psychosocial and psychological services for women in situations of violence from the Danube and Branicevo district, while the service of the NGO "Pescanik" from Krusevac will be expanded in Rasina district through the establishment of two new SOS service in Brus and Cicevac. "Women's Center Uzice", will expand services in three municipalities: Čajetina, Bjelovar and Pozega, which would reach also the Zlatibor district, and the “Fenomena” from Kraljevo will expand the existing service to be available 24 hours for women in situations of violence.

In particular, we sought to contribute to making the service available to women belonging to vulnerable groups - "Osvit" from Nis will continue to provide Helpline services in the Romani language, Roma Center for Women and Children DAE will be working on informing and improving the protection of Roma women who are in a situation of violence in Belgrade’s Roma settlements, while the Association of Roma Novi Bečej will provide support to women and girls who have suffered sexual violence. Organization for supporting women with and without disabilities in the situation of violence “OUT FROM CIRCLE VOJVODINA”, is supported to continue the work on the emotional, psychological, informative and legal empowerment and support to women who suffer violence.

Activities within the framework of the joint project of “Integrated Response to Violence against Women and Girls in Serbia II”, implemented by UNICEF, UN Women, UNFPA and UNDP, in partnership with the Government of the Republic of Serbia, led by the Coordination Body for Gender Equality. “Integrated response to violence against women and girls in Serbia” is focused on the development of the social and institutional environment that will contribute to the zero tolerance and ending of violence against women in Serbia. The joint operations of the United Nations agencies and the Government bodies contributes to solving the problem of domestic violence and violence in intimate relationships, promote support to women, girls and their families, and creates an environment that does not tolerate violence.
